OpSource Cloud Adds Support for CentOS 5

We are excited to announce that we have added fully supported CentOS 5 32 and 64 bit images to the OpSource Cloud!  CentOS is an important addition as it provides our users with a flexible linux based option to the Redhat cloud images currently provided.  

CentOS memory and cpu costs will fall under our current pricing structure.

OpSource Cloud Now Supports Servers Up to 16 GB RAM

OpSource Cloud has deployed a software upgrade to allow customers to deploy up to 16 GB of RAM on a particular virtual machine, up from the previous 8 GB RAM limit. 

Remember that OpSource Cloud provides complete flexibility over the configuration of each virtual server. For each machine, users can adjust the number of CPU's (1-4), the amount of RAM (1-16 GB), and add specific sizes of persistent, locally attached storage drives (from 10-250 GB in size). In addition, users can change these attributes on deployed servers "on the fly" through the Administrative UI or API, though such changes require a reboot of the server.

OpSource Cloud Adds RedHat Version 4 Support

OpSource has now added support for RedHat 4 to the OpSource Cloud! Specifically, we've added the ability to spin up Redhat 4.8 (also known as Update 8) 32-bit virtual machines.

We know that it's great to be running on the latest greatest O/S version such as RedHat 5.4, but there's often a need to run older versions. You may need it because elements of your application don't support the newest version or because you're testing your code on a variety of platforms... or sometimes, it's just because you've been too busy to deal with upgrading. In any case, with OpSource Cloud you now you have the option of running whatever version you need.

A special shout out to Jon Spivak of Accept Software, who made the initial request for us to add RedHat 4 to the platform... and for our engineer Kevin Lewin who put together a nice build in response to the request.
